It is the first portrait lighting workshop focused on creating dramatic film noir portraits, while also covering a wide range of other lighting techniques.
This unique workshop is 100% hands-on and will leave you inspired and with your head full of practical knowledge. You will learn how to use different types of studio lights (strobe/flash & continuous), how to work with models and you will take photographs under Roza’s expert guidance. You will also have an opportunity to see her in action - she will show you her workflow, from the moment the model enters the studio, to the finished photograph.
During her workshops Roza teaches her techniques for creating stunning dramatic portraits and generously shares her knowledge. Come ready to make a huge leap in your portraiture and lighting skills.

During this 2-day intensive masterclass, you will go back in time, you will take your lighting skills to a whole new level, elevate your creativity and learn how to create timeless portraits, reminiscent of AN Old Hollywood ERA, and so much more.
This intensive masterclass focuses on learning the intricacies of dramatic portrait lighting and creating beautiful, impactful images.
There will be multiple wardrobe changes, hair & makeup variations - everything to make this 2 day workshop an unforgettable experience.
DURING THIS VERY INTENSIVE MASTERCLASS YOU WILL LEARN:
- different types of studio lighting: - continuous light - strobe
- different ways to modify the source of light
- how to find inspiration and awaken your creativity
- how to plan and execute a successful photo session

- importance of body language: DOs and DON’Ts

DETAILS:
DAY 1:
9:30am - 10:00am: Meet & Greet
10:00am - 11:00am: Introduction: Learn about Roza's story, how she plans her sessions etc.
11:00am - 1:00pm: Introduction to theory of light and Roza's lighting techniques
1:00pm - 1:30pm: Lunch (provided)
1:30pm - 5:00pm: Hands-on lighting setups with one of our amazing models
DAY 2:
9:30am - 11:00am: Postproduction - learn Roza's process, from A-Z from developing in Lightroom to a final image in Photoshop, based on 1-2 images taken on DAY 1.
11:00am - 1:00pm: Hands-on lighting setups with one of our amazing models
1:00pm - 1:30pm: Lunch (provided)
1:30pm - 5:00pm: Hands-on lighting setups with continuous lights with one of our 2 amazing models
PLEASE BRING:
- lots of good energy and positive attitude
- Tylenol (you will get a headache from all the knowledge you will absorb - I am not even joking, ask previous attendees:)
- cameras and portrait lenses (50mm, 80mm or longer (f1.4-f2.8 preferred) although you should know by now, that cameras does not take pictures - you do... :)
- comfy shoes
- notebooks and pens
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
In order to book your spot, 50% non-refundable deposit is required. This reserves your spot. Due to the nature of the course and costs involved in planning and execution of an international masterclass, if you need to cancel your attendance after a payment has already been made, you will need to resell your seat, in order to receive a refund.
The remaining 50% is due no later than by Aril 1, 2023. Failure to pay the remainder of the fee will result in you losing your spot and you will not receive a refund of your deposit.
Should the workshop be cancelled, due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeur, any money paid will be fully refunded. Travel & accommodation fees will not be refunded.
The cost of the workshop includes two 7-8 hour days, lunch, snacks, coffee and beverages. It does not include travel & accommodation. Please make your bookings ahead of time, to ensure you have a place to stay. Studio address will be given to booked participants.
Attendees will be allowed to use images taken during the workshop for portfolio use only (website and online). Attendees are not permitted to use images taken at the workshop for commercial purposes. Social media usage is allowed but only to showcase your portfolio. Attendees must credit "Roza Sampolinska Photography" when posting images taken during the workshop.
Images must not be submitted to magazines, exhibitions or competitions without permission. Images must not be used to advertise photo shoots, workshops or products sold by an attendee.
Roza Sampolinska is NOT responsible for any injuries damage to property caused by incidents during the above mentioned workshop.
Any video/audio recording during the workshop is strictly prohibited.
